Restaurant Review | Boss Cow Oyster Bar in Miami, FL

Let’s visit another restaurant for seafood in Miami today. (I really shouldn’t write this post now at the launch time… I’m so hungry and want to revisit this restaurant now. 😅 ) Compared to the other places we’ve visited on this trip, Boss Cow Restaurant is a less well-known restaurant, but it’s a hidden gem! Here’s their full menu. I’ll share my review of the dishes we ordered later in this post.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s spacious and clean indoors, even for its restrooms. There weren’t too many customers when we visited. There is a big display freezer in the middle of the restaurant storing and showcasing all kinds of seafood like lobsters and oysters. The owner and waiters are all very friendly.

Since they have “Oyster Bar” in their title, we had to order some oysters. We ordered a mix of East Coast Atlantic Oyster, West Coast Pacific Oyster, and Cherrystone Clam, three different fresh flavors in one plate! They have a really sweet and delicious taste! And by ordering a mix like this, we got to try out the different textures and tastes in between the different types of oysters/clams without feeling too heavy.

One of our main courses was Tiger Shrimp Ramen. Ramen noodle itself is above-average, and the three shrimps on the top are so large and delicious! (They were so big that I had to put them on a separate plate to cut and eat them lol.) The shrimps are very firm, chewy, sweet, and fresh!

Then this is another amazing main dish, Shrimp Fried Rice. The fried rice part isn’t too heavy, but it’s full of rich aroma, and the rice is not oily nor dry – extremely good! Shrimps are also really good and come in an extra-large size. This was my first time having a bowl of shrimp fried rice that has more shrimps than rice 😅 I tried to have a bit of the shrimp followed by two spoons of rice but failed because there were just too many shrimps to get a mouthful of fried rice without accidentally getting a shrimp… (I’m not exaggerating…) Overall, it is finger-licking good with a generous amount of great shrimps!

During our time there, the owner came chatting with us and pointed to a small fridge on the side, saying that the cakes in it are all homemade. He asked if we want to give it a try… so we got an Owner Chef-made Cheesecake as the dessert after the meal. 😋 It tastes like a softer and damper version of basque cheesecake. It’s good but not my favorite. However, my friend (who doesn’t usually like desserts) really loved it. If you happen to visit this restaurant and want to have something sweet, you can consider giving it a try!

In summary, all items that we ordered are over our expectations. My personal favorite is that shrimp fried rice, but the seafood they offer is just fresh and awesome in general, and they also come in a generous amount. If you want to try some delicious seafood with an Asian twist in Miami, this will be a great choice! 🙂
