Puzzle Review | Blue Kazoo Rainbow Gradient 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

After my friend gifted me the Oops! puzzle from Le Puzz, I’ve been thinking about how to reciprocate. Finally, I chose this gradient puzzle as a gift for her!

Blue Kazoo Brand Introduction

Blue Kazoo is a puzzle brand founded by two friends, Abraham Piper and Josh Sowin. They place a strong emphasis on the puzzle box, even stating on their website that they design the box before starting on the puzzle itself. Most boxes are indeed beautiful and well-designed, suitable for display on a coffee table as decoration. Many of their key puzzle products have won over numerous puzzle enthusiasts with their high aesthetic appeal, sparking much discussion.

Blue Kazoo Rainbow Gradient 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Quality and Review

Gradient puzzles are truly the best choice for puzzle enthusiasts who appreciate colors. Moreover, their packaging is really attractive, giving the impression that it’s not just a mere container, but a product designed with the box itself in mind. The full-wrap design, from the colors to the typography, is beautifully executed, making it suitable for display if you don’t plan to solve the puzzle lol. The gradient colors of the puzzle itself are also very beautiful. You can confidently choose this puzzle if you like to solve a jigsaw puzzle by colors!

Basic Information

(The two sales channels may sometimes have different discounts, so it’s worth checking both for price comparison! It was cheaper on Amazon when I bought it. But when it was close to Black Friday last year, the official website has a half-price promotion that beat the Amazon price!)

They have many other puzzle designs. The most famous ones are probably the Galaxy, Earth (a circle, not rectangular, completed puzzle!), and Color (the gradient one in this post is from this series) puzzle series. The Color series also has two other designs. Most of these puzzles come in 1000 pieces, but some designs also have a mini version of 250 pieces.

Packaging

The packaging is undeniably beautiful and serves as a decoration on its own. Inside the box, there is an additional information card and a poster, which would be perfect for framing on a wall.

Unboxing Experience

After unboxing, most of the puzzle pieces were properly cut and separated. A few pieces were still connected, but they could be easily broke apart. The amount of puzzle dust was moderate to low.

Puzzle Pieces

Here are some close-up shots of the pieces! The printing quality is quite good. Even though the entire image consists of continuous color blocks, you can’t see any printing grid on it. You can sort of see some very fine dots. But if you don’t look closely, you won’t notice them. The colors are very pleasing and harmonious. And in many cases, you can tell the gradients even on just one single puzzle piece. Although the puzzle pieces are not glossy, they do reflect a little, but it’s not significant. The pieces are not thick, but it feels very solid when held in hand!

Puzzle pieces are all basic shapes – a square with 4 inward or outward tabs. There are no special-shaped pieces, but the shapes of each piece are different enough so it’s easy to know if you get it right when you try to put pieces together. There were only 2 or 3 times (out of the 1,000 pieces process) when I thought I had a piece that fitted then it turned out that’s not the case. The puzzle pieces are thin but quite sturdy. I feel like they are strong enough to endure several re-dos if I want to solve this puzzle over and over again.

The puzzle pieces are interlocking tightly. I was able to move around a small section of pieces once I put them together but would need extra care when doing so. They will not split if you move them with caution.

Puzzle Image And Level Of Difficulty

Gradient puzzles are usually relatively simple as you can use those gradual color transitions to sort the pieces. Although I wasn’t very interested in doing gradient puzzles because of this, this time I actually completely understood the charm of gradient puzzles lol. We kept making progress throughout the whole puzzling process and didn’t get stuck. And both the process and the finished product are very therapeutic. This puzzle is also printed with great quality. And every piece has a pleasant color. Plus, they fit together seamlessly. I really like it overall ♡ I think this puzzle is also a perfect choice for gifting, even if the recipient is just a casual puzzler or if you’re unsure of their preferred style of patterns! It won’t go wrong with a basic gradient design!

Final Thoughts

Don’t miss out on the gradient puzzles if you love colors! Especially, this Blue Kazoo has good print quality and a nice puzzling feel. Visually, it is impeccable from the inside out. The only minor drawback is that the completed puzzle surface is not very smooth, and the shapes of the puzzle pieces are quite obvious and don’t feel like they are flat on the table (you can refer to the completed image at the end of this post). It’s a bit unfortunate for a puzzle that highlights continuous gradients, but if it’s framed, it won’t be that noticeable anymore. Or if you simply want to enjoy the process of putting it together, it won’t be affected. I’ll still recommend this one! It’s really suitable for gifting and for people who want to enjoy the therapeutic, stress-relief feeling of puzzling!

Lastly, here are the pictures of the completed puzzle for your reference. Thank you so much for reading yet another long jigsaw puzzle review post! If you have any puzzles that you like, would like to recommend, or want to learn more about, please do not hesitate to leave me a comment so I can have an excuse to buy more puzzles! 😉
