Puzzle Review | Le Puzz OOPS 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Here comes our happy puzzling time again! ♡ Today we’re doing Oops! by Le Puzz. My friend bought me this one as a gift after she saw the ads on Instagram. From the box to the puzzle itself, Le Puzz has a well-designed visual. Good-looking appearance and middle-to-easy difficulty, this is a great gift-giving choice!

Le Puzz Brand Introduction

Established in Brooklyn, New York (might in 2021), Le Puzz has a range of vintage puzzle and puzzle boxes design. Its special cut pieces are also a big selling point.

Le Puzz OOPS 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Quality and Review

This beautiful box, puzzle, and special shape pieces are really eye-catching! The combination of vintage style and humor is adorable. Except that the durability of the pieces seems to be a bit on the lower side, it’s a comfortable and interesting puzzling experience!

Basic Information

  • Piece count: 500 pieces
  • Dimensions of the box: 14.25 x 9 x 2 inches / 36.2 x 22.9 x 5.1 cm
  • Dimensions of the completed puzzle: 25 x 18 inches / 63.5 x 45.7 cm
  • Puzzle piece thickness: about 2 mm
  • How long does it take to complete: 2 hrs (This is how long it took me and my friend to complete this jigsaw puzzle together in our first go.)

They also have other puzzle designs with the same vintage style (each outer box also has its own special design!). Besides 500-piece puzzles, they also have the 1000-piece version. But currently, the 500-piece ones would have thicker pieces.

Packaging

Le Puzz’s brand image starts to shine with the packaging. Both sides of the box are well-designed combining vintage, cute, and funny hints! There’s also a small, lovely game on the back of the box (It’s a maze for this one I’ve got. Each puzzle design will have a different outer box game!) and the story behind the image of the puzzle.

Unboxing Experience

After unboxing, most of the pieces are properly cut. Some pieces are still connected together but they can be separated easily. There is medium to little puzzle dust.

Puzzle Pieces

Here are some close-up shots of the pieces! The printing quality in the front is pretty good. You can barely see the printing grids that form the color blocks. The colors are full, opaque, and bright but not dazzling. Very beautiful! It’s not a glossy surface. There are some glares but not too severe. The pieces are thick enough. The back of the pieces, surprisingly, is a stunning vintage pink! It’s truly fully packed with well-thought-out visual design details!

Puzzle pieces, as it claimed, come in all kinds of different shapes and there are probably no two pieces with the same shape. (Love these special pieces ♡ ) Not sure if it’s because I haven’t done a 500 piece puzzle for a while, but its pieces feel larger than normal to me. They’re also very thick, so these puzzle pieces look and feel extra soothing and satisfying. Plus the patterns on the image are pretty full, so it’s easy to know if you get it right when you try to put pieces together. The only downside is that the pieces are not sturdy enough. Some pieces already have a few layers starting to come off. I can see that some are not pressed together tightly when I look closer at the sides of the pieces. They might start falling apart as I redo the puzzles multiple times 🙁

The puzzle is interlocking tightly. I was able to move a small section of pieces around once I put them together but would need extra care when doing so. They will not split if being moved with caution.

Puzzle Image And Level Of Difficulty

The image is really good ♡ No wonder it would be chosen by my designer friend lol. It’s colorful and balanced. The box and puzzle itself are also home-deco-worthy. Because it has a lot of highly-recognizable things on its image, and it’s only 500 pieces, it’s a relatively easy puzzle even if it has all kinds of special-shaped pieces. And it’s even easier if you use the image on the box as a reference guide. Best gift idea even for a beginner puzzle lover!

Final Thoughts

A rough summary would be that all the visual parts of this puzzle are great – from the box, puzzle image, printing quality, to piece cut and shapes, you can see the efforts designers put into it. As to the puzzle itself, though the pieces are thick, the feedback to hands and piece durability are both below average but still a pass. Overall, I’ll still recommend it. Especially if you like puzzles with beautiful images. The puzzle and its box will not let you down! It’s also great for gifting, or for opening it up to enjoy with friends!

Lastly, here are the pictures of the completed puzzle for your reference. Thank you so much for reading yet another long jigsaw puzzle review post!
