Music and movies are some of the ways to find comfort when staying at home. Recently, Friday movie nights have become one of my biggest sources of entertainment, and I’m pretty proud of our current home theater system setup. 😉 When not in use, simply put them away and it will turn back to a normal living room without taking any additional space. And when you want to chill and watch some movies, it only takes less than 10 minutes to put it together and transform the space into a comfortable home cinema. So I have to share with you the 3 key items for my current quick and easy home theater system!
There are three elements we need to consider when putting together an at-home cinema (fire, water, and earth):
- Screen (Image)
- Sound
- Seats
Screen (Image) – APEMAN LC650 projector
The reason why we started thinking about setting up an at-home theater is that my housemate and I almost always stood in front of the big blank wall we had in our living room whenever we were talking about movies. So we felt like we should make good use of that wall and turn it into a big screen. Plus, the atmosphere is at a higher priority than the screen resolution for me when it comes to cinemas, and we were on a rental where we might move shortly, so we don’t really want to get a big screen that’s heavy and hard to move. So we decided to get a secret ingredient: a projector!
The one we bought is the APEMAN LC650 projector (as shown above). And we were totally shocked by how good it is! It projects with a clear image, beautiful colors, and is bright enough. After a few movie nights, I even recommended this to my other friends. Highly recommend this if you have a piece of a blank wall or just a flat surface in your place! But if you are someone who really cares about the resolution when watching movies, you might still want to consider getting a monitor instead,
Sound – JBL FLIP 4 – Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker
As someone who is into music and pays lots of attention to the sound, the most exciting part of an at-home theater system must be the speaker part! But because we had a limited budget (facing the reality) and might be moving soon (as mentioned earlier), we don’t want (and can’t…) to invest too much money into purchasing a luxurious speaker set yet. So we just utilized this JBL FLIP 4 Bluetooth speaker we have. Yes, it indeed has some space for improvement. But considering the low price, I would say it is a great Bluetooth speaker worth getting! It has a pretty balanced performance across high and low notes and has a good sound quality.
Seats
Seating-wise, we got this perfect sofa bed named Milliard Daybed Sofa Couch Bed that can transform into the sofa, tween mattress, and queen mattress. We usually have it in the form of a regular sofa, and whenever we want to watch movies, we will unfold it halfway, so that it will become one layer at the sitting area, and 2 layers for the legs. This is super comfy because your legs will be held up a little bit higher. (Just the right amount – perfect!)
Many people might already have a speaker, sofa, and TV screen in their home. Utilizing what you already have and arrange some movie nights can give yourself some relaxing me-time, or chill with friends and family to strengthen your relationships. If you are missing one of the three elements, the products on this list are what keep me accompany through this whole quarantine time and make it enjoyable, so please feel free to give them a try! 🙂
