10 Cheap Makeup Products for Beginners

Although I am far from a master of makeup, I’ve been using this set of makeup products for quite a while (like, several years… 😂) and I want to share my recent makeup routine from a beginner point of view. Item #1 to #6 are my must-haves for my everyday look, while #7 to #10 will be optional depending on my mood of the day. Because there are quite a lot of products in the whole routine, I will keep it short for now and probably write more posts for each of them in the future!

Every product that I mentioned in this post is very suitable for beginners, and is very cheap as well!

  2. Foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation*
  3. Blush – Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in Peachy Sweetie
  4. Brow Pencil – Excel Powder & Pencil Eyebrow
  5. Eyelash Curler – Daiso
  6. Contour – Too Cool for School – Artclass By Rodin*

Brush – Real Techniques Flawless Base Brush Set*

Throwback to long, long time ago, I ran into this brush set treasure when I was shopping in some random stores. I still recall that most of the makeup beginner tutorials on YouTube would mention this brush set. This is a beginner-friendly, low price, but with high quality brush set that’s very popular. I cannot find a set that’s exactly the same anymore, but it should be this Flawless Base Brush Set. The only one that’s different is the square foundation brush. Since I bought it as my very first brush set, I never bother to buy other ones and have been using it ever since!

Foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation*

This is such a cheap yet nice-quality product! No wonder there are so many people recommending it online. I love how it will turn into a slight buttery glow after applying it for a while ♡ But a little downside is that it could be on the drier side (maybe because it’s matte finish). Another thing is that it is not very long-lasting on me, I don’t usually do any setting powder or spray in my makeup routine though. I still think it performs pretty well especially considering its low price point!

Blush – Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in Peachy Sweetie

This is also the one and only blush that I bought several years ago. The shade I got is Peachy Sweetie. I would say it’s a little too pink and young for me now (time flies…). But it is pigmented enough yet still feels very natural! So I think this is also a makeup product that’s cheap and beginner friendly. (But it seems like they’re not selling this product anymore…)

Brow Pencil – Excel Powder & Pencil Eyebrow

This is also a product that I will highly recommend! It totally deserves all the great reviews it gets. It is very easy to use for a beginner. And it’s so convenient to have brow brush, brow powder, and brow pencil all in one. It’s also my one and only brow product lol. As mine is running out, I’ve been struggling to decide what to buy next as my brow product. I do want to try new products but this is too good to not buy it again 😂 Any suggestions?

Eyelash Curler – Daiso

The curler I have is a random one that my friend got me from Daiso. It doesn’t have a brand printed on it. For a person like me who has very thin and short lashes, it is a must to curl my lashes. But this is just a normal eyelash curler – not exceptionally great, but not bad either.

Contour – Too Cool for School – Artclass By Rodin*

Highly recommend this one!!! (You could probably tell from the images that I’ve been loving and using it so much 😂) It is very natural yet effective, and it’s almost impossible to go wrong when using it. I love it so much and will highly recommend to give it a try ♡

Eye Shadow – RIMMEL magnif’eyes crimson edition*

I bought this eye shadow palette about a year ago. It is my relatively new friend compared to the other products in my makeup bag. I like it a lot as it has 12 colors that are perfect for day-to-day use with such an affordable price. It is quite pigmented, easy to blend, the shimmering ones are also the right amount of glow!

Lipstick – 3ina Intense Lipstick

Lipsticks from 3ina is another product that’s low price but high quality! I got it in shade #301, which is an elegant nude color, great for the everyday look. And it’s super smooth to apply! The only thing that I don’t like that much about it is that it’s very not long-lasting…

Mascara – HEROINE MAKE Long and Curl Mascara*

This is another makeup superstar product that’s very popular. As someone who barely has any eyelashes, I really like to have it handy. When casually applying it for one coat, my eyelashes will suddenly show up in a natural way (magic!). When I want a heavier look, put on a few more coats will also build up a thicker, darker look without tangling up ♡

Eye Liner – KVD Vegan Beauty – Dagger Tattoo Liner Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner*

This is one of my new favorites ♡ Even though the one I got is actually not the most popular one from KVD, I can still feel how beginner-friendly and easy-to-use it is! I’ve mentioned it in the previous post My First Sephora Haul – 2020 Unboxing & Review if you want to read more about it!

That’s it for the 10 cheap makeup products that I use every day and are suitable for beginners as well! If you have any other recommendations, please feel free to leave a comment and share with me! 🙂
